This original recipe is cheap, easy and extremely delicious.
Ingredients:
- pizza dough (Trader Joe's has awesome dough for $.99, or Rachel Ray's recipe is really easy)
- 2 oz pepperoni
- 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 sliced red pepper sliced
- 2 sliced mushrooms
- 1 Boboli pizza sauce packet (or another sauce of your choosing)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Sautee the sliced red pepper and mushrooms until caramelized. Air toss dough and spread it on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Make sure there are no holes in your dough.
Spread most of the sauce on one side of the dough. Save a little for dipping afterward. Spread pepperonis, cheese and veggies on the sauce. Fold the unsauced side on top of the toppings and press with fingers. Use a fork to seal the calzone tightly.
Cook about 15 minutes or until the crust is crispy. Let stand 3 minutes before eating. Cut in half and enjoy!
Mmmmm......I printed off your recipe!
